Baby Book Review #004

I'm warning you right now. this is one big, bad book. :)

This week I bring you the Alphablock.
By: Christopher Franceschelli
Illustrated By: Peskimo

This board book is 104 pages of letter fun,
and was another impulse purchase the second I saw it!

Just in case you didn't know how big a book with 104 pages was! :)

This book is big, but easy for little hands to hold,
and my son absolutely loves flipping through the pages.

Each page starts off with the letter of the alphabet cut into the page.

Then, you turn the page to find out what "A is for..."

But half the fun of this book is the guessing game.
You can have your little one guess what each letter stands for
based off of the pictures they look at, before turning the page.

At 21 months, my son is not quite old enough for that just yet,
but we still have fun anticipating what each letter stands for!

The illustrations in this book have a retro feel,
and are bold, bright, and so much fun!

Here are a couple of my son's favorite pages.

"F" is for fish.

"R" is for... rainbow.

"T" is for... train.

I seriously love this book,
especially since my son is at that age where we are starting to work on our letters.

Although it may be a longer book for a little one's attention span,
this book captivates my son,
and he will sit through each and every page.

And with this being a board book, it is easy for him to
grab on to each letter and turn the pages himself!

Do you have the Alphablock in your library?
If so, just how much do you love it?!

If not, are there any other books you love to read to start teaching your
little ones their ABC's?

  1. I love books with thick pages. They last so much longer because of their durability. This looks like a great book for little ones!

  2. I want this book! My daughter would love it. She just turned two and is learning to identify her letters. She identifies most of the vowels and a few others right now, so I know she'd love this.
